California Breathing coordinates the Healthy Housing Work Group at the California Department of Public Health’s Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. The Healthy Housing Work Group includes experts in asthma, lead poisoning prevention, indoor air quality, injury prevention, community development, data tracking, research and surveillance. 

The Work Group has established the following Goals to serve as guideposts for our Healthy Housing activities.

•    Promote healthy housing through key research and its application.

•    Develop and maintain a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable infrastructure for healthy housing activities in CA.

•    Ensure public awareness of healthy housing issues to create public will and alter behaviors.

•    Support the establishment, implementation and enforcement of evidence-based policies to promote healthy housing.
