California Breathing is a program of the California Department of Public Health charged with implementing components of the Strategic Plan for Asthma in California. To effectively reduce the burden of asthma, we believe in a comprehensive approach and creative strategies.

Our vision for the future includes:

• Improved respiratory health of Californians
• Elimination of asthma-related  and other health disparities
• Health systems  that reflect an ecological approach to asthma
• Improved health coverage for uninsured and underinsured
• Asthma-friendly work environments are standard in California

• Public health is the concern of all
