Utilizing Childcare Data
Asthma-Related Environmental Practices and Asthma Awareness in California Child Care Centers: In 2002, the California Department of Health Services surveyed center-based site directors, teachers and providers to assess asthma knowledge and the presence of triggers. The survey results indicated that environmental risk factors are commonly present in childcare centers and that knowledge among childcare staff about asthma varies widely (Goveia, 2005).
