2010 AIR Health Awards-Recipient Schools

In recognition of National Health Schools Day on April 26, 2010, California Breathing announced the names of schools that received the 2nd Annual AIR (Achievements in Respiratory) Health Awards for implementing strategies that made their school environments healthier for students and staff with asthma. See which schools earned an award.

California Breathing Releases Strategic Plan Implementation Grants (SPIG) Request for Proposals-Due June 3.

Applications are now being accepted for SPIG 2010. During this two-year grant cycle, organizations working on goal 4.B (Childcare) and goal 5 (outdoor environments) of the Strategic Plan for Asthma in California will be eligible.  Download the child care RFP, the outdoor air RFP, the application, and required work plan template .

Tribal Healthy Homes Regional Training- June 9-11, Sacramento

The National Tribal Healthy Homes Assessment, Training and Technical Assistance Support Center and California Breathing will be hosting a 3-day regional training on Healthy Housing for Tribal communities. Download the save the date.

California Clinical Asthma Summit June 29, 2010- Registration now open 

Registration for the 2010 California Clinical Asthma Summit is now live on CAPHI's website . Applications for the limited number of scholarships are also available online.  Click here for more information about the summit.

Carbon Offsets support HELiOS

In an effort to reduce its impact on the earth, California Breathing off-sets its travel, and the travel of its invited speakers, by supporting an initiative to install solar panels at local schools. To learn more about the HELiOS project, click here .
