Strategic Plan for Asthma in California: 2015-2019


The Plan recommends proven strategies to reduce the impact of asthma among the approximately five-million Californians – one person in eight – who live with this chronic disease.

The Plan was developed with input from over 100 agencies, organizations and individuals across California. It reflects CDPH’s enduring commitment to statewide coordination, collaboration and communication that reduces the health and economic impacts of asthma.

The Strategic Plan for Asthma in California, 2015-2019 includes goals on:

  • Health Care,
  • Indoor Environments,
  • Outdoor Environments,
  • Partnership and Collaboration and
  • Work Related Asthma.

Agencies, organizations and individuals are encouraged to use the Plan to set goals, identify strategies, and coordinate efforts to achieve effective prevention, management, and treatment of asthma in California.
